Tell us about your business.
I mentor individuals navigating the difficult task of caring for loved ones with dementia. I provide support to help them decrease their frustration and prevent burnout. I help maintain good relationships and teach how to still have meaningful interactions. My mission is to help caregivers be the best they can be and allow their loved one to age with dignity.
What inspired you to start your business or say yes to this path?
When my daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, my life was turned upside down. Not only because of her diagnosis, but primarily because I felt I lost my identity when I was pushed out of my job. I will say my daughter is now one year cancer free.
I have been a speech language pathologist for over 34 years, focusing primarily on adults with neurological deficits. When I lost my job, I became lost. For two and a half years, I struggled with anxiety and depression. I only left my house to attend doctor appointments for myself and my daughter. That is, until both my parents’ health deteriorated.
My mom passed away in December of 2022, and my father passed away 16 days later in January of 2023. At the end of 2024, I returned to the workforce out of financial necessity. While it was good to interact with people again, I came home exhausted and knew I needed to figure out another way.
Through networking, I explored paths like weight loss coaching and life coaching, but I realized neither was my true passion. What had always brought me joy was helping families understand dementia, its progression, and how to interact with loved ones with dignity.
Fast-forward to today—I’ve returned to that passion. I now mentor dementia caregivers, helping them reduce stress, promote self-care, and create meaningful connections with their loved ones.
What do you feel makes your business meaningful or unique?
My journey into mentoring dementia caregivers comes from both professional experience and personal loss. As a speech-language pathologist, I worked with countless families navigating dementia, helping them find ways to connect and care with dignity.
But when my own life was shaken—through my daughter’s cancer diagnosis, the loss of both my parents, and years of anxiety and depression—I truly came to understand the weight caregivers carry. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure how to keep going.
Rediscovering my passion for helping families through dementia has given me new purpose. This work is meaningful because I know, from both sides, that with the right support, caregiving can hold connection, compassion, and even hope.
What’s one lesson or turning point that’s shaped your entrepreneurial journey?
The hardest seasons in life can reveal your true passion—and that passion can become the foundation of a business that changes lives.
Is there a moment in your business you’re especially proud of?
I didn’t let grief or identity loss define me forever. Instead, I rediscovered my passion for guiding dementia caregivers, combining decades of professional expertise with deep personal compassion. That takes resilience, courage, and heart.
What advice would you give to a woman navigating a similar path?
It is so important to do something you love. Struggle doesn’t end your story—it can reveal your purpose. Hold on, give yourself grace, and trust that hope will return.
Coffee, tea, or smoothies—and what’s your go-to order?
I am a coffee and soda gal. Home-brewed coffee with a splash of milk and honey.
What song instantly lifts your mood or makes you feel like yourself again?
Just about any uplifting contemporary Christian song. And Christmas music year-round.
How do you start your mornings? Rituals, routines, or rhythms you love?
Get up and brew my coffee. Take my healthy candy lozenges and prescriptions. Sit outside with the dogs and play fetch.
A book, podcast, or quote that’s impacted you recently?
"God doesn't call the equipped, but equips the called."
What does success currently look like (or feel like) to you?
Success for me right now is a future where I do not have to work for a company to make ends meet. My husband and I are both retired and able to cruise the world.
What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I am a broken-down athlete. I played fast pitch softball, 3rd base, all through high school and received a scholarship to Texas A&M the year they had just won the NCAA college championship.
